Psalms 55:18
He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me.
I find great peace in knowing that God is there when the war is at hand in my life. I find that it is harder to follow Psalms 55:22 than it is to fight the battle itself. Who likes giving control over to someone else? Especially when we are under attack, and are having to deal with life's problems we are not equipped to handle at times. I often struggle with giving God the power to do what I want Him to do in my life. It's human nature and our sinful pride that stops us from having the victory we are seeking. I think that is why God allows us to carry our burdens for so long. I believe He is just waiting for us to lay them down.

Psalms 55:22+23 says:
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
23. But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.
Verse 23 is where it is all at. God will cast them down! We cast down our burdens and God casts down our enemies! We feel that we have to fight the war, but really that's God's job. We are only ment to lay down our burdens before him, and let God fight the war. It is the laying down of our burdens and trusting that God will destroy our enemies. There are times God calls us into battle to fight along side of Him, and there are times He simply says stay here and watch this! If you are struggling with something in your life and the burden is too heavy to carry any longer, then i urge you to lay down your burdens and trust God.
